Accor Plus 50% discount dining benefit is real!
Joined the Accor Plus Silver membership last year but didn't enjoy the benefit until last weekend.
We entitled a complimentary night's accommodation in a standard room each year after joining the membership last year. We booked one night in Novotel Citygate (Hong Kong) for free and another night for just HKD$1,000 through the Accor Plus web site. The standard room included does not have free breakfast, thus, don't choose that option. The booking experience is good besides the confusing option I just mentioned (yes, I'm greedy and tried the free breakfast option....).
The standard room is good if you compare with other hotels in Hong Kong having similar price range. It won't disappoint you.
The service that surprised me is the 50% discount dining benefit. I used to have bad experience in this kind of discount, for example:
1. Discount on food but not the beverage
2. 10% service charge calculated before discount
We went to the restaurant named Olea in Novotel and ordered the following food:
1. Lobster Soup HKD$98
2. Classic Cesar Salad with Chicken HKD$118
3. Angus Beef Sirloin w/Thick Cut Fries $296
4. Scallop and Green Pea Risotto $188
OK, let me show you the final bill:
It is amazing, it is a real 50% discount should be. The 10% service charge is calculated using the discounted price!
I would highly recommend this membership and would definitely join another year!
